According to a recent tweet from the Official XinFin Twitter account, the Andromeda update is ready for launch that will hopefully bring upgrades to XinFin’s Mainnet.

The long-awaited Andromeda Upgrade for the XinFin has finally received a launch date and is ready to be deployed. According to the announcement from XinFin, the XDC Network will be launching the XDPoS consensus protocol at block number 38383838. XinFin also provided a BlockScan.io link for users to follow up on the launch countdown. The tweet also advised node owners to create backups of their chain data folder using Keystone, before applying any updates to the node.

Andromeda Upgrade

The Andromeda Upgrade has already been tested on the Testnet by the network protocol squad from Apothm, as hopes are high for Andromeda bringing improvements and enhancements to the XInFin Mainnet.

The update will include a new version to Solidity. The XDPoS EVM will take advantage of Solidity 2.0, that will help associates and internal products to purchase many various EVM chains without having to perform any adjustments or refinements.

The update will also bring up a new way of how fees will be processed. Owners will now have to deal with transaction feeds instead of miners. Improvements to security include, using Eth_chainId that will stop transaction reiterations and military-grade surveillance and protection mechanisms that will counter any dangerous nodes and reduce resource utilization.

Further Improvements include reduced latency in block creation that come from miner addresses. Users of Guarda will not be required to make any changes, however alterations to other wallets or exchange services will be notified to investors beforehand. Adding to that, master nodes must be current, as users are being prompted to update to the latest version.

High hopes for XinFin

This new upgrade is the result of research and development that has been going on for several years. According to an official document released, there were three main contributors included Pramod Viswanath, Laim Lai and Gerio Wang.

XinFin thinks that this new upgrade will hopefully increase the number of Ethereum EVM projects on its network. According to BlockScan Explorer, more than 500 contracts and over a million active wallets have already been registered on the network, which is a sign that XinFin is definitely on the right track with this one.
