As the cryptocurrency industry continues to grow worldwide, people have started bringing them into their use in many sectors. One of the sectors that are now observing a lot of contributions from the cryptocurrency industry is charities and donations.

According to the latest reports, one of the largest hospitals for Cape Cod has received a couple of donations in cryptocurrencies. The sources have revealed that a couple of donations were made through Bitcoin (BTC).

Although there were only two transactions made through Bitcoin (BTC), yet the amount donated from them was really high. The sources have revealed that the amount received through a couple of BTC transactions was $800,000.

The details were shared by the representatives of Cape Cod Healthcare, which is a not-for-profit medical center (NPO) and is based in Massachusetts. The representatives have revealed that their center received donations from an anonymous cryptocurrency user.

The anonymous cryptocurrency user reportedly donated $400,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC) for the cause. The donation was made by the anonymous Bitcoiner back on February 19, 2021. Prior to the recent donation, the NPO had also received a donation that was $400,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC) in the last month.

The NPO platform confirmed that all together, they received a total of $800,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC) as donations, and both times, the donors kept their identities anonymous.

It has been confirmed that one of the leading and most prominent healthcare service providers known in Cape Cod (Massachusetts) is the Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) Hospital. The details and confirmation of the donations through Bitcoin (BTC) were confirmed by the NPO on February 22, 2021.

Christopher Lawson, who is the senior vice president at CCHC talked about the anonymous Bitcoiner. Lawson, who is also the CDO at CCHC confirmed that the donor requested to stay anonymous and requested not to reveal his/her identity.

Lawson stated that they had received an email from the anonymous donor last month. In the email, he requested approval from the hospital so that he could make the donation in Bitcoin (BTC).

He confirmed that the $800,000 donations are not the first time the donor has made donations for the hospital. The donor has been involved with their bank for a while and has been making decent donations for their cause.

It was just the first time at the beginning of the year 2021 when the donor asked them if they could accept donations in BTC. Once the approval was given, the anonymous donor made two transactions summing up to $800k.

The firm revealed this is the first time that the hospital’s administration has accepted donations in cryptocurrencies. When they received the request for approval from the donor, their administration had to make necessary changes before they could accept the Bitcoin (BTC) donations.
