On June 18, 2019, social media company Facebook announced that it would be launching Libra- a U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin digital currency project in 2020. Unfortunately, the launch of the project has continued to stall, with the project receiving a new name- Diem, last year. The cryptocurrency project, which had reportedly been on the pipeline of Facebook since 2017 and confirmed to have more than 100 Blockchain Engineers working on it, has continued to be delayed by Facebook, as there is no particular date of launch in sight. Unfortunately, while it appears that the project is unlikely to see the light of the day soon, prominent names on the project have started to seek solace somewhere else.

Circle believes Disparte is the perfect man for the job

Crypto payment giants- Circle have announced that Dante Disparte has joined the Blockchain company as its new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Surprisingly, before joining Circle, Disparte was one of the core members of the Facebook-Diem project, as the professional was the former Executive Vice President of the troubled cryptocurrency project.

However, Disparte, who was known for his pragmatic approach to business at Facebook, will now be tasked with ensuring that Circle’s global policy is at the optimum level. It is also worthy to note that, while Disparte will work hand-in-hand with the Executives of Circle to promote the Blockchain firm’s overall image, the American is also the owner of Risk Cooperative, a strategy, and risk advisory firm.

In his official statement to the press via his Twitter handle, Circle CEO- Jeremy Allaire believes that the wealth of experience acquired by Disparte makes him the perfect candidate for the role. He believes that Disparte is the perfect individual for the role, as the role requires the service of a communication expert who will help Circle engage the government and its stakeholders, adding value to the Blockchain company. Allaire expressed his delight at having the former Diem VP on board and can’t wait to feel his impact at Circle.

Disparte believes he is ready for the challenge at Circle

Circle is currently one of the topmost Blockchain players in the cryptocurrency space and are the brains behind the U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin- USDC. The cryptocurrency, which is publicly backed by Coinbase, is pegged to be almost the same value as the U.S. dollar.

USDC is one of the top twenty cryptocurrencies in the Blockchain space and has continued to be a top priority payment platform for many online businesses. Speaking at an interview, Disparte expressed his delight at joining Circle, sighting that the Blockchain company is one of the top Blockchain firms changing the space’s overall image.

He believes that his impacts at Diem, which resulted in the change of the overall public perception and name of the former libra project, show that he is ready to take on a big challenge at Circle. However, while Disparte is expected to get the gears rolling at Circle, the Diem project is currently stalling as the developers are unsure if it will see the light of the day in the quarter of the year.
