Cryptocurrencies have managed to take over the international financial space by a significant degree. In fact, it has become very difficult to talk about investing in an asset without the topic eventually straying towards cryptocurrencies. And when it does, people will usually say that they are either thinking of investing in it or already have.
Every day, thousands of investors are entering the crypto market, and are taking advantage of the incredible services that it has to offer. Cryptocurrencies have also managed to enter a variety of industries and revolutionize their practices. The most recent example of this happening was when NFT managed to completely encapsulate the online trading market. And now, it has even managed to capture the attention of Discord, one of the largest gaming-related social media platforms out there.
Currently owned by Amazon, Discord has been able to completely revolutionize how people are able to interact with each other when playing games. The in-game overlay matched with the excellent voice quality makes it a great platform for every type of gamer to use.
And most recently, the CEO of Discord has even hinted at the possibility of integrating cryptocurrencies as a whole within the platform. More specifically, he suggested that NFTs would especially become a major part of the online platform.
The CEO for the incredibly popular online platform shared an image on Twitter about enabling cryptocurrencies within the app. The Settings themselves would allow people to store their favorite cryptocurrencies within the app. And while some people took the news very nicely, other users of the platform did not take very kindly to their platform being invaded by these controversial tokens.
Within hours of posting the original picture, the gaming platform found itself on the receiving end of some very harsh twitter criticism. The picture also included the Ether logo, which suggests that there is a deal in the works between the two. It also happens to be the best choice for a platform like Discord to start its proper steps into the crypto market.
Ether is not just the second-biggest cryptocurrency in the market. It also happens to be the biggest blockchain network supporting thousands of other cryptocurrencies and NFTs, all of which have been able to succeed through the blockchain. And since discord will be managing NFTs and cryptocurrencies, it would be a perfect choice.
Even though there is no concrete evidence to suggest that cryptocurrencies will become a part of Discord, the evidence does suggest that is happening. Recent surveys on the platform are hinting at Discord taking the integration forward, allowing its user to connect their wallets directly to discord. This move can be a big step in the right direction for cryptocurrencies.
