The South American country Venezuela has gone through a bad case of money devaluation. The government of the region has proceeded to adapt to the US dollar to be saved from further inflation. However, there is still no sign of switching to cryptocurrencies as legal tender. Some other countries in the region, like El Salvador, have taken that route, and the results of this transition have yet to be calculated.

Meanwhile, the corporations in Venezuela have taken it upon themselves to enable cryptocurrency-based payments. This move is a way for the business industry in the region to salvage their current clients and attract new customers as well. In the current year, several studies have shown that the use of crypto payments is becoming a catching trend.

Citizens of Venezuela can Pay for their Airplane Tickets with Cryptocurrencies

The Simon Bolivar International Airport is the largest airline in Venezuela. The management of the airport has recently announced that it has decided to accept several cryptocurrencies as payment for flight bookings and tickets. This airport is locally known as Maiquitia International Airport. The management of the airport claims that this decision is made keeping in view the increasing popularity and adoption of cryptocurrencies in the region.

With the new service, the 2 million travelers that use the airline services every year will be able to purchase their tickets with the help of a select number of cryptocurrencies. The airport management is also hopeful that this new service extension is going to attract more tourists from countries like Russia and Europe, according to a statement issued by director Freddy Borges.

The South American country of Venezuela is the world leader in the matter of adopting a localized digital token called Petro. This step was taken to save the economy of the country from the adverse effects of the money devaluation. Moreover, the cryptocurrency investors in the western peninsula might want to become frequent flyers to the region due to the various businesses that have decided to accept crypto payments.

The fast-food chain giant Burger King has recently decided that it is going to accept payments in cryptocurrencies like Petro, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether, Dash, BNB token, and Bitcoin Cash in Caracas that is the capital city of Venezuela. In the same manner, another fast-food giant, Pizza Hut, has decided to offer the same services that are extended to cities like Maracay, Maracaibo, and Barquisimeto in addition to Caracas.
