Major health care conglomerate in Spain, Biziondo, has recently announced that it is planning to start accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as a way to settle medical bills. It should be noted that the cost of health care and medical attention has always been a matter of prime concern for Spanish citizens. The medical group has called their move a Bitcoin revolution.

David Izquierdo, the general manager at Biziondo, said in an interview with the Forbes Negocios that the world is going through a monetary revolution for the last few years. He further added that 60% of the global money printing was done by central banks of Europe, the USA, and Japan in 2020. Izquierdo opines that this monetary revolution enticed by crypto would lead to a major financial disaster in the next five years.

Cryptocurrencies Replacing Medical Insurance and Empowering People

The Spanish healthcare group would start accepting Bitcoin on June 1st, 2021, and present the patients with a chance to replace medical insurance. At the moment, it is considered inconceivable for a middle-class household to afford any type of medical bills without filing for healthcare insurance. The presence of Biziondo hospital branches in major Spanish cities like Madrid, Lorca, Malaga, Bilbao, and San Sebastian would allow a huge number of patients to take advantage of this opportunity.

Izquierdo has pointed out the benefits of digital assets for service providers and patients. According to him, patients would be able to settle their medical bills without the interference of any banks. In this manner, the users would be able to enjoy a greater sense of transparency and save themselves from paying heavy transaction fees aided by faster expense settlement.

Can Cryptocurrencies make way for the Autonomy of Health Care Services?

The general manager of Biziondo medical group told the media in a recent interview that cryptocurrencies would help in fulfilling the new philosophy of the medical field. This new philosophy pertains that more patients should have access to health care facilities, and the system should become autonomous for the benefactors.

According to Izquierdo, cryptocurrencies would be able to create a globally unified economy that would not discriminate against race, caste, creed, religion, and borders. He says that he has been personally invested in studying and learning about cryptocurrencies for hundreds of hours. His research helped him gauge the long-term benefits of the digital assets, which prompted the decision to add cryptocurrencies to the company.
