Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has invited Sam Altman, the recently fired CEO of OpenAI, to work with him on a ground-breaking project that involves decentralized Large Language Models (LLMs). The idea, which is presented in a humorous post on the X platform, suggests a possible partnership that has the potential to completely change the way decentralized technologies and artificial intelligence are developed.
News says that Hoskinson publicly invited Altman to collaborate with him on a decentralized LLM project on social media. Hoskinson’s decentralized LLM project aims to do away with the conventional dependence on a single business or organization by distributing control over a network of computers.
Abdulkarim Abdulwahab from The Crypto Basic explained that this decision aligns with the decentralized philosophy that forms the basis of blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies, encouraging a more open-source and inclusive approach to creating and applying potent language models.
Hoskinson discusses Altman’s Exits From OpenAI And Discuses Future AI Projects
Hoskinson’s overture establishes Altman as a valuable partner in this avant-garde endeavor by acknowledging his experience and contributions to artificial intelligence. The invitation also follows Altman’s exit from OpenAI, a business that has led the way in AI development and research.
Hoskinson, while hailing Altman’s previous achievements, said that GPT-3 and other language models from OpenAI have proven helpful in various applications, including content creation and natural language processing. However, the current situation has been reevaluated due to ethical and centralized control concerns.
These issues might be resolved by a decentralized LLM, which would distribute authority and decision-making and lessen the possibility of a few entities holding all the power. The partnership between the CEO of OpenAI and the founder of Cardano is believed to influence language models and artificial intelligence in the future.
Hoskinson’s invitation was done via his X handle, and came 24 hours after the Board of Directors at OpenAI sacked Altman. Altman, in response to the invitation, also through his X handle, accepted the invitation, while expressing the legal implications of publicly voicing out his dissatisfaction over the board’s decisions. Meanwhile, Mira Murati has immediately been appointed as the interim CEO while the board has continued talks.
Swipe iX’s Solutions Architect Points Out Challenges Surrounding LLMs
Abdulwahab also explained that the proposal is a typical example of the collaborative and transparent approach to finding novel solutions to urgent technological problems while highlighting the potential of blockchain and decentralized technologies in AI.
During the meeting, Hoskinson said that the introduction of ChatGPT has recorded a significant activity in the large language models, with special emphasis on the comprehension and procession of human thoughts. Industry experts have started to argue against the large execution of LLMs, citing data privacy concerns, computational resources, and data security.
In his comments, Swipe iX’s Solutions Architect, Gareth Hinde, said that communication with central LLMs is used for external breaches, abuse, and leaks. Hinde pointed out the dangers surrounding the models hosted in the central, which involves data to some centralized server for procession.
LLMs are said to solve all the challenges raised by Hinde. Reports have it that LLMs will provide keys for guaranteeing user privacy, optimal utilization, and security. It was also gathered that the decentralized LLM control will be shared across computer networks, eliminating dependence on a single organization or business.
