Brazilian Football Club Is Already In The Cryptoworld, Sao Paulo Accepts Payments With Cryptocurrencies

One of the most successful football clubs of Brazil – Sao Paulo now allows its fans to use cryptocurrencies to buy their tickets of matches. As many different companies and, even football clubs are already using this type of currencies, Sao Paulo decided to join in and be the part of this trend.

The club officially stated about accepting cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin, Shiba Inu, XRP, Ether and many other cryptocurrencies will be used as a payment method. Except of being one of the most successful clubs in Brazil, Sao Paulo became the first club (In Brazil) to accept cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.

The Deal with Bitso and The Consequences of The Deal

Sao Paulo announced about the deal signed with a Mexican cryptocurrency exchange platform – Bitso. The deal was signed in the beginning of the year of 2022 and was meant to establish a three-year partnership between the club and the company.

In May, 2022, two partners decided to strengthen the relationship between them. So, Sao Paulo accepted Shiba Inu, Ether, Cardano, Bitcoin and many other cryptos as a means of payment.

Fabio Gloden Brum became the first fan to buy a ticket with cryptocurrency and for that achievement he got a non-fungible token (NFT) as a present. Fabio Brum used Bitcoin to buy a match ticket for him. Today, the payment method with cryptocurrencies is allowed only to official fan club members, but soon, it’ll be allowed to use also for the rest of the public.

It is not the first time for Bitso to cooperate with football clubs. The exchange platform created a partnership with one of the most successful clubs of Mexico – Tigres, in the beginning of the year of 2022. The partnership was made with the same purposes – Tigres allows its fans to use cryptocurrencies as a payment method.

Tigres and Sao Paulo are not lonely in this list. In May, 2022, Bitso signed a deal with Spanish football team – RCD Espanyol. The purposes of the deal are staying the same.
