In a press release by the Norwegian Cryptocurrency team, BitGate announced that the multi-dimensional and multi-functional wallet would launch in a Beta form. In the announcement, the company explained that the citizens would be the first to try out the Beta form of the cryptocurrency wallet before the public.

The company laid emphases that the app was remade after the last few months were spent testing, and they are now happy to let the public know that they have made a revolution in the Cryptocurrency wallet market.

Features of the BitGate Beta

Like every upgrade, comes with greater expectation. The BitGate Beta is not excluded, as it has lived up to the hype surrounding it and the lofty expectations of its customer base. The new app users will now be able to Buy and Sell BTC directly with a bank account. The app that caters to this is “Open Banking”, which users will use by adding any bank accounts to BitGate and using them to buy and sell bitcoin.

The app also allows Norwegians to send BTC to each other via SMS, and the traded BTC can be obtained when they log into their accounts. Another great feature of the app is that users can access their Bitcoin with a simple BankID login. In other words, what this means is that since the user’s BitGate wallet will be linked to their BankID, they will not be any need to remember any additional passwords. The setup of an optional PIN-code or fingerprint has also been enabled for extra security.

Limitations of the new upgrade

Like every new design with a testing phase, there will always be little limitations, as the app is still in its testing phase. The Beta app reportedly cannot perform on-chain withdrawals and deposits of Bitcoin like many cryptocurrency wallets, as these features are yet to be activated. However, the customers expect an upgrade to the app, which will add the features above as soon as possible.

BitGate is a digital wallet app that allows Norwegian users to buy, sell, store, and send cryptocurrencies fast and easy using compliant electronic ID solutions. It is licensed by the Norwegian FSA to operate virtual currency custody, payment, and exchange services.
